As promised back in 2023, Fanatics Betting & Gaming is finally expanding its footprint and Canada’s largest province is the first stop.
On August 11, 2026, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) gave the Fanatics Sportsbook and Fanatics Casino the green light to launch online sports betting and online casino gaming in the province. While the operator still has to sign a commercial agreement with iGaming Ontario, it’s safe to say Ontario players will soon have one more option to place their real money bets.
Ontario will be the 25th market where Fanatics offers legal sports betting and the fifth for its online casino vertical.
“We definitely want to be in Canada,” Fanatics Betting & Gaming CEO Scot McClintic said in an interview with the Canadian Gaming Business back in December 2024.
“Will we be in Canada? Yes. It’s all just a timing question … Canada is definitely on the docket.”
What to Expect from Fanatics in Ontario
While it began as a sports apparel and merchandise company in 1997, Fanatics entered the sports betting fray in January of 2023. The goal was to offer sports fans a comprehensive digital sports ecosystem. Its first debut was a retail sportsbook at the Northwest Stadium, home of the Washington Commanders.
In May 2023, the Fanatics Sportsbook app went live just before Fanatics Betting & Gaming acquired PointsBet USA in August 2023. This move significantly bolstered its growth in the gaming space while challenging industry legacy giants such as DraftKings and Fanduel.
As of August 2026, the Fanatics online sportsbook is available across 23 U.S states along with Washington, D.C., while Fanatics casino is live in four US states. Do note that Fanatics also has a prediction markets product that’s also accessible in a total 23 U.S. states that do not offer legal online sports betting and iCasino.
That said, Ontario players will find the Fanatics Sportsbook app and Fanatics Casino app to resemble its US-facing platforms. That includes:
- iOS and Android mobile-only platform with a slick dark theme and intuitive search tool
- Superb range on local and international sports with competitive odds
- In-app live streaming and live betting functions
- Standard player protections alongside biometric logins and responsible gaming tools
- 24/7 customer support via live chat, a help line, and social media
- 500+ online casino games, including slots, table games, and live dealer options
Pair this with the unique Fancash rewards program that grants players credits on every wager, win or lose, and there’s plenty to look forward to when Fanatics goes live in Canada’s most populous province.
Worth mentioning that, although Fanatics Betting & Gaming acquired PointsBet USA, PointsBet Canada is not part of the deal. Simply put, Fanatics is entering Ontario as a fresh, standalone applicant, separate from PointsBet’s existing Ontario license or market presence.
Fanatics’ Canadian Sports Ties Could Give It a Head Start in Ontario
Fanatics didn’t start in gambling. It built its name selling jerseys, hats, and game-day gear long before branching into sportsbooks — and it markets that history as a selling point, calling itself the “first real sports brand” to make the leap.
In Canada, that groundwork already runs deep. Its partner roster reads like a national sports directory:
- Canada Soccer
- Canada Basketball,
- Hockey Canada
- Toronto Blue Jays alongside the Major League Basketball franchise
- Toronto Raptors and the National Basketball Association
- Multiple National Hockey League franchises.
Nonetheless, none of that guarantees a win in Ontario as it’s still the most crowded regulated iGaming market in North America. iGaming Ontario doesn’t publish operator-level revenue, and operators rarely disclose their own market share, so there’s no easy way to gauge how a new name will perform early on.
Fanatics does carry momentum from its U.S. growth, plus it’s a brand Canadians already recognize from merchandise racks. While it’s uncertain whether Fanatics will proceed to Alberta as its iGaming market went live on July 13, 2026, it’s probable that the operator will wait to gain momentum in Ontario before proceeding to another legal online gambling market.
